Learning Objectives

After completing this activity, participants should be able to:

• Appreciate the role of drug eluting stents vs. bare metal stents in patients with multivessel coronary artery disease

• Compare outcomes of CABG vs. PCI  from  the SYNTAX and FAME trial

• Appreciate the value of fractional flow reserve and  intravascular ultrasound

• Discuss the differences between radial and femoral access technique, advantages, disadvantages and complications

• Review outcomes in high risk PCI and ventricular support patients

• Discuss the techniques of assessment for  mitral stenosis and vavuloplasty

• Describe the atrial septal defect closure indications, shunt calculations in the cath lab and techniques and complications of ASD closure
