Target Audience
This activity is designed for all nurses and technologists who work within the cardiac catheterization lab, regardless of experience.
Learning Objectives
After completing this activity, participants should be able to:
- Appreciate role of drug eluting stents vs. bare metal stents in patients with multivessel coronary artery disease
- Compare outcomes of CABG vs. PCI from the SYNTAX and FAME trial
- Appreciate the value of fractional flow reserve and intravascular ultrasound
- Discuss the differences between radial and femoral access technique, advantages, disadvantages and complications
- Review outcomes in high risk PCI and ventricular support patients
- Discuss the techniques of assessment for mitral stenosis and vavuloplasty
- Describe the atrial septal defect closure indications, shunt calculations in the cath lab and techniques and complications of ASD closure
Activity Overview
The full-day curriculum offers attendees an opportunity to interact with faculty leaders in cardiac catheterization procedures and cases and provides education on the latest tools to ensure that you receive practical information that is immediately applicable to your practice setting. An activity booklet containing lecture slides will be provided to each attendee upon arrival to the conference. To be eligible for documentation of credit, participants must attend the full program and complete an evaluation form on-line. After successful completion of the evaluation form online at www.naccme.com, participants may immediately print their documentation of credit.
